Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of what the press is fondly referring to as Monicagate.  I apologize for reporting this to you a day late, but I've been busy celebrating in my blue dress and am just now getting up and out from under my boss's desk.

All joking aside, the 1998 Monica Lewinsky scandal is an affair to be remembered and not just because President Bill Clinton went down for a busty brunette going down on him.

Come on, we all saw it coming. He played saxophone. What rock star doesn't have groupies? I'll admit I was one. A fan of Clinton that is, not a Ms. Lewinsky imitator.

During the time of his presidency, America and Mr. President made love, not war. We had a balanced budget and a federal surplus. Oh, those were the good old days.

The only other thing we could have asked him for was to find a hotter intern to do his dirty work so foreign countries stopped bothering us about the US obesity epidemic, but I guess his taste in women isn't his strong suit. Monica Lewinsky? Gennifer Flowers? Hillary? Really Bill? With hair like that you should be able to pull hotter tail, but we forgive you.

Ten years later his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is running for office. Many doubt America is ready for a woman president, especially one who stood by and defended a cheating husband, but I like Hillary. Not just because she's fighting for the middle class, but also because the manner in which she dealt with the Lewinsky scandal was incredibly and unbelievably cool, calm and collected, whereas I on the other hand would have grabbed the scissors and snip-snapped.

But by staying with Bill she showed America she stood strong for family values and stuck by her man - something 49 percent of married couples in America can't do. She had the heart to forgive something most would consider unforgivable. These are qualities I want in a leader.

Alexander Pope once said, "To err is human, to forgive, divine."

Bill Clinton also once said, "I have never had sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. I've never had an affair with her," which makes me wonder whether the only reason Hillary is running for office is so she can enjoy the perks of having leg (or intern) room under the Oval Office desk.

If elected - all I have to say is payback's a bitch, Bill, and her name's Hillary.
