College Times recently spoke with BFMV drummer Michael Thomas.
College Times: How did you get involved with the Taste of Chaos tour?
Thomas: Our management came up to us and said we've been offered this great tour in the States. (When) we figured out that Avenged and Atreyu were doing it and we were like "yeah." It's a great opportunity for us.
Scream Aim Fire was pretty much an instant success. Did that surprise you or did you have a feeling it would be a hit?
We kind of hoped it'd do well its first week…When it actually came out and went to Number 4 in America, it was kind of weird. I can't still get my head around it now. It's been top five in every territory in the world. It's crazy.
You've played gigs with Guns 'n' Roses and Metallica. Is it hard to win over the audience when you're opening for legendary bands like that?
The hardest ones to win over were the Iron Maiden fans, which were very - they didn't care who was opening for Iron Maiden. They just wanted to see Iron Maiden. Which, you know, is fair enough. We wanted to watch Iron Maiden as well.
