Week after week, we write listings for the happenings of the coming weekend. And week after week half the fun is trying to find some way to write beer into the event. This week, we’re at a loss. Our cup runeth over. Literally.

This Saturday Draft Magazine will bring its beer festival, The Big Pour, to Mesa. Draft’s website boasts that it will be “the biggest collection of beers collected under one tent in Arizona history.” That’s quite a claim. We seem to remember the ASU ski club going camping two years ago ... well, maybe “remember” isn’t the right word...

The Big Pour will feature beers from over 100 local, national and international breweries. Other than beer, the beer-tasting-and-general-good-times-for-all tent will feature live music, food and the opportunity to Ask the Brewer.

If drinking and talking about beer just isn’t your idea of a full day, The Big Pour also gives plenty of chances to play with your beer: billiards, darts, foosball and, of course, beer pong.

There are four ticket options: General Admission, VIP, Super VIP and Designated Driver.

General Admission ($35): Access on field level to 100 breweries and all the games and music. Attendees will be ID’d at the entrance and given bracelets with 15 beer sample tickets on them. Field level also includes Ask The Brewer area and information on home brewing. Parking is $5 and is adjacent to the stadium.

VIP ($50): This gets you access to a lounge with comfortable seating, wide screen TVs, free snacks (cheese, vegetables, chips and dip) and soft drinks and VIP beers not available on the field. A not-free BBQ buffet will be available. Plus you get in 30 minutes earlier via a separate line, and reserved parking in a priority area closest to the stadium. And a free yearly subscription to Draft Magazine.

Super VIP ($75): All the perks of the VIP, plus it comes with an invitation to the Brewers Bash on Friday Night, which includes free food and beer. The Super VIP Lounge will feature a free Mexican buffet.

Designated Driver ($15): They can’t keep you from enjoying all the music and games, and you get a free lunch and sodas. Must be 21 or over.
