He's Back!

My only question is … why? I mean not that I don't appreciate Jackson's work. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for another one of his fiascos. And he hasn't toured since 1996 - what caused the change of heart?
Well, I'm here to answer that question for you, or at least try. Doing a little research of my own, rumor has it that Jackson is hurting for money and the concert tour may be one of his only ways out. According to USA Today, Jackson defaulted on a $24.5 million loan for the Neverland ranch in November, and owed the Prince of Bahrain an undisclosed settlement amount, after being sued for $7 million concerning an abandoned investment.
Okay, so you get the point - Jackson owes a shit-load of money to a bunch of different people, and in order to make up for it he's going to put on a couple concerts. Makes sense, right? Every now and again even the King of Pop has to get off his ass and do a little work.
But here's what doesn't make sense. The British media speculated in a Time's article that Jackson was spending $11,000 a night at the Royal Suite at the Lanesborough Hotel in London while he was announcing his comeback. Hmmm … you don't have to be a mathematician to figure that one out. So, long story short, he can't be hurting that bad.
So maybe he is really sincere about his intent and is making this one last appearance for his diehard fans. I mean Jackson did say this to his fans during his announcement on Thursday:
"I love you. I really do," he said in breathy pants. "You have to know that. I love you so much. Really. From the bottom of my heart." He then made two peace signs, turned, pumped his fist, turned again, struck a fierce pose and blew a kiss before disappearing.
Whatever the case may be, let's just hope that he puts on a good show. Between the disappointing performance in 2006 at the World Music Awards and the hyped Jackson 5 reunion that never happened, he hasn't set the bar too high for himself.
