Hey, World,

I just wanted to drop in and say hey. It would be awesome if you could stop that bad thing you're doing. You know - nuclear weapons, fighting each other over drugs and religion, racism - the whole shebang.

You see, I'm not much of a pessimist. I like to see the good side of things, even if there is hardly a good side to see. But this whole "believing we're in the end times" thing is really getting to me. Why do you want the world to end so much, World?

It has me a bit down. There are so many good things in the world happening every day. I can't help but think the increased pessimism is partly the fault of my industry and, in turn, my fault too. The media tends to focus on the negative because, well, when things go according to plan, it's not exactly news.

So, I just thought I'd put my desperate plea out there, just in case Barack Obama (I think he might be on my side), Kim Jong-il, various drug lords and Fortune 500 CEOs happen to stumble upon this humble blog. I need to feel like I'm making an effort.

If you want the world to end, it will. But I don't really want it to. I appreciate my life and the lives of my friends and family. It would just be awesome if you would too.

So, you know, hit me up when you get chance. I'd love to hear from you. Maybe we could think of some alternatives to blowing each other up. I hear knitting is en vogue these days.
