"New Moon", Same Old Rubbish

I'm the kind of person that gives all movies a chance. I always try to find good things about in movies, but I watched the trailer for the second "Twilight" installment "The New Moon" and I actually cringed.

I saw the first "Twilight" movie twice just to confirm that I didn't like it. I thought that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson created the worst chemistry together. Stewart has absolutely no emotions the whole movie and Pattinson is wearing makeup, for heavens sake. Also, if a guy who happened to be a vampire came into my room and watched me sleep, I think that would be the first sign toward a restraining order.

"The New Moon" trailer has been viewed over 10.6 million times since its release last week. That amazes me considering how awful the first movie was. I want to talk to the girl in St. Louis that found the "New Moon" script in the trash. You know she read it and probably didn't like it either. The person who trashed it in the first place had the right mindset.

I love movies that have unrealistic plots, for the most part. Sit me down and I'll watch every "Harry Potter" in a row, but the "Twilight" series tries to make an unrealistic plot into reality. At least in "Harry Potter" they have their own land and it doesn't take place in a local high school.

This "Twilight" fad almost bothers me. For months I would sign onto Facebook and see comments and bumper stickers talking about girls' obsessions with Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. I even saw a story on fmylife.com about a guy who was dumped because he wasn't Edward … umm, hello crazy!

The new movie, which is scheduled to be released in November, has a very small chance of redeeming itself. There is a new director that could turn it around, but I have a strong feeling it's the unfortunate writing that is going to continue on 'til the end.
