If you're looking for something new this fourth of July, Star Swim at the Wyndham Phoenix Hotel is what you're looking for. This weekly event features a different kind of setting for live concerts. This hot spot offers swimming on top of a roof in the heart of downtown Phoenix.

Every Saturday, indie rock bands from all over the country and local bands from Arizona put on shows while people swim around in the pool instead of being stuffed up in a closed concert hall. This idea offers a great way to cool down from the Arizona summer heat.

With a bar and live music, this Saturday's event is a great way to switch up your party setting and meet tons of new people. One of the drink specials, among many, is $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon.

This Saturday features bands Miniature Tigers, Princeton, Dust Jacket and DJ Ben Collins, who plays guitar for Chronic Future and owns local record label Modern Art Recordings.

The idea of the poolside concert Star Swim started last year at Hotel San Carlos and attracted so many people that it was moved to the Wyndham Phoenix Hotel so it could accompany more people.

Wyndham Phoenix Hotel, 50 E. Adams Street, Phoenix, 602.333.0000, 6 p.m., $6 in advance and $8 at the door
