Rob Zombie knows a hell of a lot about being freaky. The Grammy-nominated metal god doesn't only know how to wail like a murderer, he knows how to direct them too.

He has directed such horror treasures as "House of 1,000 Corpses," "The Devil's Rejects" and the remake of scream classic "Halloween."

So, you might call it a little cutesy and coincidental that Rob Zombie is in town the Thursday before the real Halloween. And yes, it gives his fans even more of an excuse to dress like the bloodthirsty beasts they are at the core. But RZ fans never need an excuse. All they need is a little fake blood and a conservative Southern grandmother to frighten the wits out of.

Rob Zombie, Dodge Theatre, October 29, 8 p.m., $32-$37
